Description

One of the most economical choices for egg production, the White Leghorn (Shaver) is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Their eggs are consistently large to extra large in size. The birds tend to mature very early which means egg producing begins quickly! They are not favored as meat birds as they do not get to be large birds, and can tend to be very active and flighty. They rarely go broody, which makes them well suited for uninterrupted egg laying. Egg quality and shell strength are consistently good.

Ordered 5 White Leghorns and received them in excellent on 4/28/21, with a hatch date of 4/26/21. Very vigorous, inquisitive, snd 100% livability. Not a lap chicken by any means, but not as “flighty” as their namesake. First egg at 18 weeks and 5 days.
