Introducing the "Sapphire Sky" chicken breed, where beauty meets bountiful eggs!  With their striking appearance and tufted crowns, these eye-catching birds will make your flock soar.  Adapted to various climates, especially warmer ones, they'll bring a touch of celestial charm to your coop and egg-scape.

What color eggs does a Sapphire Sky lay, and how many a year?

Sapphire Sky hens lay about 250 to 300 green eggs a year, with excellent feed-to-egg efficiency. It is often misspelled as Saphire Sky or Sapphire Skye.

When do Sapphire Sky hens start laying?

They mature at about 20 to 22 weeks and usually start laying soon after.

Can I order only hens, or will I get roosters?

Your choice. Order Female for hens only, Male for roosters, or Straight Run for chicks boxed as hatched, which usually means a mix. Our sexing is guaranteed 90% accurate. You don't need a rooster for eggs, and one rooster for every 6 to 10 hens is plenty if you want fertile eggs.

Is the Sapphire Sky cold hardy, and what is its temperament?

Yes. Sapphire Skies tolerate both cold and heat well. They are gentle, friendly, and easy keepers, so they are a good pick for beginners.

Do you ship Sapphire Sky chicks?

Yes. We ship by USPS to every state except Hawaii, and you pick your ship week in the cart from the weeks we are hatching this breed. Order minimums change by season, and your cart shows the current minimum before checkout. Every order is covered by our 100% Live Arrival Guarantee. If they don't arrive alive, call us within 48 hours and we will make it right. Count your chicks when you get them home.

What is the difference between a Sapphire Sky and an Olive Egger?

Both lay green eggs. The Sapphire Sky lays more eggs a year in a more consistent color. The Olive Egger gives you a wider range of shades and feather colors.
