Description
Pronounced “dewclay”, this breed originated from Belgium and offer some of the most unique patterns and feathering around cheeks, throats, with full plumage that cover their legs. Very attractive, showy birds popular in backyard flocks for their splashes of unique colors.
Description at 1 day old:
Varying depths and combinations of lovely russet brown and reds that cover legs and with slightly lighter rust colored faces.
Description at maturity:
Muffed cheeks that blend into beards on neck with beautiful mottled patterns that will change through each molt as they age. Pattern consists of dozens of white “dots” with black edging called spangles amongst back and body feathers of varying red shades from rusty to deep mahogany that all end with a white tip and that cover their legs.
