While there are many different colors of Wyandotte chickens, the Silver Laced were the base for the development of all of them. Their feathers are broad and loosely fitted with a beautiful pattern. With good egg production and a nice sized body, they make a great all purpose bird for your flock!

Description at Maturity:
Silvery-white feathers outlined in black lacing, a broad, rounded body, and a distinctive rose comb.
What color eggs does a Silver Laced Wyandotte lay, and how many a year?
Silver Laced Wyandotte hens lay about 180 to 260 brown eggs a year. You may see it written as Silver Laced Wyndotte or Silver Wyandotte.
When do Silver Laced Wyandotte hens start laying?
They mature at about 22 to 24 weeks and usually start laying soon after.
Can I order only hens, or will I get roosters?
Your choice. Order Female for hens only, Male for roosters, or Straight Run for chicks boxed as hatched, which usually means a mix. Our sexing is guaranteed 90% accurate. You don't need a rooster for eggs, and one rooster for every 6 to 10 hens is plenty if you want fertile eggs.
Is the Silver Laced Wyandotte cold hardy, and what is its temperament?
Very. Wyandottes are our top pick for cold hardiness, with a rose comb that resists frostbite. They are calm, do well free range or confined, and can be assertive in a mixed flock.
Do you ship Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks?
Yes. We ship by USPS to every state except Hawaii, and you pick your ship week in the cart from the weeks we are hatching this breed. Order minimums change by season, and your cart shows the current minimum before checkout. Every order is covered by our 100% Live Arrival Guarantee. If they don't arrive alive, call us within 48 hours and we will make it right. Count your chicks when you get them home.
What is the difference between a Silver Laced and a Golden Laced Wyandotte?
Color. Silver Laced birds have white feathers edged in black, and Golden Laced birds have gold feathers edged in black. The Silver Laced was the original Wyandotte that all the other colors came from.
