Description
This hybrid was developed in Czech Republic by crossing Black Copper Marans and Barred Rocks. This breed was developed to produce extra large eggs with very dark brown shells (chocolate eggs) more efficiently than most very dark egg producers which tend to have low laying numbers and high appetites.
Description at 1 Day Old:
Most will be feather-footed, though some will not. Mainly black down with rich browns visible underneath.
Description at Maturity:
Females have black feathers with deep brown shades underneath, creating lovely black and deep gold plumage.
Males have black and brown feathers with barred pattern on neck and back. Most are feather-footed, some are not.

Ordered 6 and received them on 4/28/21 with 100% livability. Fast growth and feathering. Beautiful birds. Got my first dark chocolate egg, with darker specks, at 18 weeks and 4 days…beating out the White Leghorn by 1 day. Their disposition is extremely calm and quiet. Most impressed with them.
